Barrow Street Advisors, a commercial real estate capital advisory firm, has expanded its business into the UK and Europe. John Brady runs it as Head of Capital Markets, UK and Europe.
The firm arranges senior, development and bridge loans, joint venture equity and preferred equity for property owners and developers. In the UK and Europe it works with clearing banks, building societies, insurance companies, debt funds, specialist lenders and equity investors.
Brady joined Barrow Street in January 2025 after nearly seven years in CBRE's debt and equity capital markets business in New York. The firm's principals have advised on more than $40 billion across more than 500 transactions over their careers.
"A lot of UK owners are refinancing loans they took out when rates were much lower. The lender they used last time often isn't the right one for the deal now," Brady said. "There are far more lenders and investors active in the UK and Europe than most sponsors ever speak to. Our job is to know who is funding what and to put the deal in front of the right ones."
